Pre-heat oven to 375º

Peel, core & slice 6-8 apples.
If desired season to taste with any or all of the following:
Cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, mace, allspice
Place apples in a buttered casserole dish and
Sprinkle with one of the Topping recipes below
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until topping is golden brown and crisp
Garnish with Ice Cream and Fresh Whipped Cream

Harvest Time Apple Crisp Topping
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup dark brown sugar
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
Pinch freshly grated nutmeg
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, chilled, cut into pieces

Heritage Oatmeal Crisp Topping
1/3 cup rolled oats
1/3 cup flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 pound unsalted butter, cut into pieces
